Work will be taking place this week on the village green to replace the low level fence along Carrs Meadow.
Please use common sense and keep away from the areas where work is in progress, and encourage any unaccompanied children to do likewise.
The work involves replacing the existing fence, and extending to join up with the fence on Carr Lane. Several gaps will be left in the new fence for pedestrian access, whilst keeping vehicles out.

With the announcement that York is to be placed in tier 2 COVID restrictions, a few people have asked for clarification whether or not this includes Escrick.
To clarify, most of Escrick Village is in Selby District. The boundary runs between the church and the SangThai restaurant, as shown in black on the map below. York is north of the line, Selby is south of the line. Selby is not part of York.
Restrictions are defined using political boundaries, not postcodes, postal addresses or telephone dialling codes.

Covid 19:
At September’s meeting the Parish Council reviewed arrangements, and agreed to keep these unaltered. The Council will continue to meet via video calls, and the playground will remain open with restrictions and an enhanced cleaning regime. Plans may change as the pandemic evolves and residents are encouraged to check the Council’s website for updates.

The application for a waste sorting site at the former Stillingfleet mine site has not yet be heard by committee.
Maintenance:

An order has been placed for an electrical supply to the fountain area, to allow the monument to be illuminated in due course.

Update from Selby District Council - Thursday 17th September 2020:
To update you on the situation with Covid-19 in Selby district, as our area continues to record higher numbers of cases compared to other parts of North Yorkshire.

Working together with LRF partners, we’ve put the following in place:
These actions are being taken to try to avoid a further full lockdown if possible. Work continues now to prevent, contain and reduce the spread of the virus.
In addition, in the whole of the Selby district, people are asked to:
